Psst… The Denver Ear Giveaway’s 10 Blog Post Contestants

The Denver Ear Giveaway is officially underway!

The top 10 blog posts have been chosen, based on individual reasons, and have been published on the website.

The blog posts will be featured on the front page of the website (as a slide) for a full month from July 13th 2015 through August 13th 2015.

Every day the first post in the slide will be exchanged with another one in order to allow each blog post to receive the same amount of page one (higher) exposure that is the result of traffic to the home page.

After August 13th 2015, all 10 blog posts will be analyzed via: Buzzsumo, a website that tracks the total amount of social media shares/like/tweets/+1s combined on multiple social platforms, and the results will be published for all to see.

Here is an example of how this data will look like to determine the winner.

The winner will receive two FREE tickets to the Taylor Swift concert + a recurring guest blog position on The Denver Ear. Second place will receive two FREE tickets to the Nick Jonas concert.

Have You Been to Boulder?

Have You Been to Boulder?

This blog post was chosen because with our strong emphasis on the city of Denver, we thought that it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to show some love to another Colorado favorite Boulder! Author, Noa Margalit, showcases some great and all around information about things to do, see, enjoy and eat in Boulder. Click HERE to read her blog post.

The Molly Brown House Museum

The Molly Brown Museum

As a Colorado & Denver resident for over 8 years AND (at a certain time in my life) slightly obsessed with all things Titanic, it absolutely boggled me that I have never visited (or even heard!) about this historical Denver landmark. I figured if I haven’t then maybe some of you haven’t either… in which case author, Rachel Beck, definitely provided our readers a true Denver secret. Click HERE to read her blog post.

Why You Need To Visit The Kitten Pavilion at This Year’s Denver County Fair

Kitten Pavilion Denver County Fair

I have a cat (her name is Bluffy), and we flew her over from England with us when we moved to Colorado. So it shouldn’t be too surprising to understand why, once I realized this extremely cool pavilion is taking place this year at the Denver County Fair, that I would want you all to know about it too ( plus, who wouldn’t want to meet Lil’ Bubs?!). Author, Katelyn Shields’ post is extremely unique and worthy of The Denver Ear’s “Psst” title through and through. Click HERE to read her post.

Taylor Swift Concerts Throughout the Years and What to Expect This September

Taylor Swift Concerts DenverSince ultimately, I believe, that many blog posts were submitted due to the possibility of winning the actual tickets to see the sold out tour of Taylor Swift, I figured she should be mentioned, in some way, in this competition. Once I read the blog post by author, Jessica Baity (an absolute hands down “Swiftie” fan), I found the spotlight that Taylor Swift deserved. Click HERE to read her post.

7 Under-The-Radar Denver Concerts To Enjoy This Summer

MarchFourth Marching Band Live

If you have been following my blog long enough, you might have picked up on the fact that I feature events that involve music… a lot! I believe that any experience that revolves around music (whether it is as the main event of the night or as a by-product of another event) leaves a lasting memory much greater than other events. My favorite question, by the way, to prove this notion to others is “Do you remember that movie we went to see last year with X that did X with the X co-star in it?” Some people remember it, most though need to scratch their heads for a few minutes to locate that memory, often not remembering it altogether. BUT if  I asked you “Do you remember that Imagine Dragons concert we went to last year?” Well you get where I am going with this. Not one person would forget a night like that. Author, Rebecca Rice, not only feeds my personal concert addiction, she also lets us all know about upcoming artists, that maybe one day, will be so well-known that their concert tickets will be the prizes for a future giveaway contest. Ed Sheeran at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Concert Review

Ed Sheeran Concert Red Rocks Amphitheatre

My first reaction to reading the title to this blog post was that, it might not work because the event already actually took place and yet my idea was to tell people about events or things they can attend or know about. But then I read the blog post and I realized that this blog post was more than a concert review… it was a concept review. A concept of how to view many situations in life and how sometimes when you change the way you look at things and see the positive attributes in them, you whole experience changes. Author, Tori Lindsey’s post shares with our readers a great event that also might help your personal experiences or situations shine in a whole new light. Click HERE to read her post.

Roadmap to India

Khazana Indian Cuisine

One of my favorite types of food is Indian food. Everything about the flavors, little dips, breads, aromas all the way to the dining experience that includes the music, clothing and decor always gets me smiling (and my stomach and taste buds really happy!). But I always do eat the same dishes and have yet to have been exposed to Indo-Cuisine until I read author, Sahana Narayan’s blog post about Khazana. I was already drooling half way through the blog post and I realized that if these words make me so hungry for the food, then it is well deserved contestant! Click HERE to read her post.

Family Fun on a Hot Colorado Day – Water Parks Around Denver

Water Parks Around Denver

I have two little girls. One of the reasons I decided to create this blog in the first place was for the idea that I may not be the only one who struggles with keeping them entertained every weekend and not always asking everyone I know “What’s going on this weekend?”. Well, this blog has been live since November 2014 and you would figure that, if not before I created it then at least since then, I would be able to tell you important information such as water parks you can enjoy in Colorado that aren’t just the few Denver staples that we all know (and love). Well you figured incorrectly because once I read author, Adriana Valdez’s blog post and realized how many of these parks I had no idea even existed, definitely an important Denver secret to share. Leela’s European Café

Leela's European Cafe

There are very few places that are open 24 hours in Denver. Well to be honest, until I read this blog post, I thought there was only one. Then this sweet surprise was submitted and when I got round to the section where author, Brooke Engel, mentions the “Drink & Draw” weekly event, then I immediately marked Leela’s Cafe as a Denver secret that needs to be shared! An Educational Change

An Educational Change

Just like one other post on this list, which I wouldn’t have initially expected I would choose, this post was a surprise heart tugger for me. So what if the blog posts were supposed to be about Denver specifically? Why not use this platform to promote a change for the better generally which also inadvertently does in fact affect Denver as well? Author, Blanca Rivera’s post about an educational change is such a sweet surprise for this whole competition and what an amazing photo she submitted along with her post… “stop wishing. start doing”. She most likely wished then sat down and made it happen by doing and now she is also a contestant for the prizes. Powerful message from a powerful young woman. Click HERE for her blog post.

Good luck to all our contestants and thank you all for your wonderful, engaging, sweet, interesting and downright awesome blog posts that you all submitted. Even if your blog post didn’t get accepted, it doesn’t mean it didn’t make a difference. Your support, following and active participation in this blog is the reason it exists. I appreciate each and every one of The Denver Ear’s fans and readers!
