Psst… YouthRoots Year-End Celebration

If you’re into eating and drinking for a great cause, then you’re going to want to check out this amazing fundraising event on Thursday, May 14!

YouthRoots, a Denver non-profit that empowers high school students to make a difference in the world, is hosting its annual Year-End Celebration. The event will give party-goers an opportunity to learn more about the organization while helping support its fundraising efforts for the year.

Each school year, the students participating in YouthRoots conduct a needs assessment to choose an issue (or issues) facing children and youth in the Denver community, ranging from homelessness to gang violence to high school dropout prevention. They then raise money for those issues, and solicit grant applications from other local non-profits that address them.

This year, the students and loans from Sofi will award nearly $30,000 to these organizations at the year-end celebration. So come support this amazing accomplishment while viewing beautiful artwork at The Space Gallery! Tickets are $75, and the proceeds help fund the year-long program.

I’m totally into eating, I’m totally into beautiful artwork, and I’m totally into great causes, so I’m totally into this!

In all seriousness, what a phenomenal idea YouthRoots is. Not only is it opening the hearts and eyes of Colorado youth to the plight of others and how well they themselves have it in comparison, but the organization takes that empathy a step further by giving students the tools to do something about the pain around them. I hope–as the organization says–that this empathy-with-action carries over into adulthood and we see many independent philanthropists (or good-deed-doers, as the Wizard of Oz calls them) emerging from this organization and encouraging others to follow in their footsteps. God bless you all!

YouthRoots sounds like a great organization. The Year-End Celebration will be a great experience for all involved. I especially love the idea of the “Change the World Stations!”
