1. Stanley Marketplace Opening

Stanley Marketplace Opening 2016 | The Denver Ear

Opening in early 2016 Stanley Marketplace is no ordinary marketplace. Located at the intersection of the Stapleton and Aurora neighborhoods just east of Denver, the more than 22-acre, 100,000 sq. ft. indoor/outdoor space was once Stanley Aviation headquarters, where airplane ejector seats were engineered and manufactured; now will be an adaptive reuse community hub, home to a park, beer hall and more.

2. RTD’s FasTracks System

In 2016 RTD’s FasTracks system will open with the following schedule:

Opening January 3rd 2016

Flatiron Flyer: The Flatiron Flyer is RTD’s brand new bus rapid transit service that will transform your travels between Denver, Boulder and all points in-between. This route travels between Union Station and Downtown Boulder Station. You can expect a bus every 15 minutes, all day. This is the ultimate car-free convenience, allowing travelers to have a reliable option morning, noon and night.

Opening April 22nd 2016

A Line Light Rail: The A Line Light Rail will get take you from Union Station to Denver International Airport in 37 minutes. Service will run every 15 minutes from 6am – 8pm and every 3o minutes from 8pm – 1am & 3am – 6am.

Opening Summer 2016

B Line Light Rail: The B Line Light Rail will provide direct service from Union Station to Westminster with an estimated 11 minute travel time. The B Line is the first six miles of the proposed 41-mile commuter rail line that will eventually go to Broomfield, Louisville, Boulder and Longmont.

Opening Fall 2016

G Line Light Rail: The G Line Light Rail will travel 11 miles between Union Station and Wheat Ridge, passing through northwest Denver, Adams County and Arvada with an estimated 26 minute travel time.

Opening Winter 2016

R Line Light Rail: The R Line Light Rail is a 10.5 mile extension of rail from the current Nine Mile station north to the University of Colorado A Line. The R Line service will travel 22 miles from the new Peoria Station at the north end of the line, to Lincoln Station at the south end of the line. Travel from Aurora to Lone Tree.

3. Maroon 5 Concert

Maroon 5 will be performing in Denver at the Pepsi Center on Thursday, October 6th 2016.

Tove Lo will be the opening act for this concert.

4. The Who Hits 50 Concert

The Who, an English Rock band, have hit 50 years together and are celebrating this monumental anniversary with a special North American Tour that will arrive in Denver! The Who will perform at the Pepsi Center on Tuesday, March 29th 2016!

5. Denver Comic Con

Denver Comic Con (DCC) is a 3-day, family-friendly pop culture fan extravaganza, featuring the best in pop culture entertainment, will take place from June 17th through June 19th 2016! DCC is a program of the Colorado nonprofit Pop Culture Classroom, whose mission is to inspire a love of learning, to increase literacy, celebrate diversity and build community through pop culture education.

7. Alice in Wonderland – Colorado Ballet

Experience a whimsical (wonder)land with beloved, eccentric characters including the frantic White Rabbit, mysterious Cheshire Cat, peculiar Mad Hatter, terrifying Jabberwock and other exotic creatures as young Alice escapes the clutches of the wicked Queen of Hearts. Featuring choreography by Septime Webre and music by Matthew Pierce, performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra, this ballet will charm adults and children in a theatrical extravaganza!
