Psst… JUN IN JUNE: A Honey of a Festival at Everitt Farms

JUN IN JUNE: A Honey of a Festival at Everitt Farms | The Denver Ear

In honor of National Pollinator Week, taking place from June 20th through June 25th, 2016, Everitt Farms will be hosting a special event, JUN IN JUNE: A Honey of a Festival!

The JUN IN JUNE festival will take place on Saturday, June 25th, 2016 from 12pm to 6pm, and will celebrate honey, sustainable living, urban farming and gardening. Enjoy organic food, organic probiotic JUN and other organic beverages while listening to live music and sipping on an organic cocktail.

Learn how to brew this elusive probiotic drink called “JUN” with raw local honey, get organic gardening tips, the inside scoop on bees and beekeeping and attend panel discussions on “What is local food?”.  The Vendors have been hand-picked for their organic, natural and sustainable values and featured organizations that share these values are welcome to come and promote their programs.

Bringing the JUN IN JUNE Festival to life is a collaborative effort between Everitt Farms, a well-established organic farm operating in Lakewood since 1879, and the Jun Key SuperFoods Co-op, a new group with organic and sustainable values.

“The JUN IN JUNE Festival is an event where organic and sustainable minded folks can come and further their knowledge as well as enjoy excellent organic food and drink” said Cindy Monical of the Jun Key SuperFoods Co-op.

During the festival Mr. Mullen will speak about the sustainable future of Everitt Farms’ eight acre slice of Lakewood.

“The Jun Key SuperFoods Co-op approached us with the concept and we loved it.  The festival fits with our philosophy, goals and long term plans” Mr. Mullen added.

Other JUN IN JUNE sponsors and partners include Jovial Concepts, a 501C3 non-profit organization, winner of the 2016 Lakewood Sustainability Award, Eldorado Natural Springs Water, named the best tasting water by Berkley Springs International Water Tasting competition in 2016, and Rising Sun Distillery, local makers of organic vodka and gin and Silver medalist at the Denver International Spirits Competition this year.
