There will be horses, cowboys and western fun in Cody’s Wild West event, a festive parade, an orphan and classic car show, the ever popular Muttin Bustin’ competition, bull riding, a golf tournament, live foot stompin’ entertainment, free kiddie train rides, children’s activities, and more!

Golden Buffalo Bill Days | The Denver Ear

Buffalo Bill Days first started in the 1940s as an event where people took commemorative trail rides by the Buffalo Bill Saddle Club to Buffalo Bill’s grave on the top of Lookout Mountain. In the 1960s, the manager of the local Chamber of Commerce felt the trail rides could be expanded upon for an activity to promote the city of Golden and on the riders return from the trail ride, they were met with a large parade and festival.

Nowadays, the Golden Buffalo Bill Days is run by a specially appointed volunteer-based Board of Directors that oversees the festival, parade, entertainment, vendors and more.

The Buffalo Bill Days events are spread over the City of Golden in various locations. You’ll find most of the events at these locations: downtown Golden, Parfet Park, and various historical museums and parks around town.

Events run from 5pm to 10pm on Friday, July 29th, from 6am to 10pm on Saturday, July 30th, and from 9am to 5pm on Sunday, July 31st, with the annual Buffalo Bill Days Parade taking place on Saturday, July 30th at 10am.
