Try These 6 Places If You Are Single And Looking To Mingle | The Denver Ear

The third week of September is also known as National Singles Week and if you are single and looking to mingle then maybe it’s time to try new places.

As a married woman myself, you might ask yourself “How would she know”. Don’t fret Denver singles.

I’ve polled and researched singles that have social event calendars so exciting and active, that could even make Kendall Jenner‘s life seem dry in comparison.

So check out these ideas and places before you find yourself once again at an uncomfortable social setting, where your Aunt Suzie from out-of-town questions your efforts on finding a good match!

Grow Your Tailgating Party or Offer Nearby Tailgating Parties to Join Yours

Tailgating is a great place to meet new people yet often people find themselves tailgating with only their personal group of friends. Next time you organize a tailgating party, tell your friends the invitation is open to their friends as well. Better yet, offer nearby tailgating parties the option to join yours and combine together.

With the Denver Broncos back on the field for a new season of football, tailgating the Sports Authority Field at Mile High is a known local hot-spot for meeting singles. The combination of the pre-game excitement mood, along with the friendliness of Broncos fans, is a great place to stop by other people’s tailgating parties and strike up a conversations. Plus, you already know you have something in common to break the ice… you all are Broncos fans!

When you think back to the time your social calendar was filled with meeting new people, it was probably due to a social circle you joined.

When we are younger our social circles are more active. Schools provide us with many opportunities to connect with one another on a more intimate level, and those connections are expected to be maintained at specific set times and places, ensuring we fit them into our schedule.

As adults our circles become smaller and smaller over time.

Bring back the mingling opportunities those team environments provide by joining a team that shares your interests!

Meetup.com is a great place to find like-minded new people to get to know and interact with. The subjects and ideas shared behind each group offered are so diverse that you can find groups that can share a general love for hiking to groups that share a love for David Bowie’s music.

Another great place is, to join a group on Mile High Sports Group. Mile High Sports Group brings people together with an organized league and hosts many events. And if the word ‘sports’ is putting you off, then you should know that they don’t just offer traditional sports groups. You can find groups and leagues that include Skee Ball, Corn Hole, Glow-In-the-Dark Capture the Flag, and even Beer Olympics.

Go on a Brewery Tour

If you envision a tour as the traditional format you participated in during your fifth grade outing to a museum, then think again!

Brewery Tours are a great way to join a group of people and get to know them better over a chilled pint of beer. Participants get a behind-the-scenes look into how local micro-breweries make those delicious hand-crafted brews, and also have sampling, tasting and socializing pit stops along the way.

Hang Out at A Not-So-Typical Book Store

“Did she just suggest I go to a book store to mingle?” Absolutely.

Book stores have come a long way since your last quest in search for the latest “Archie & Jughead” copy.

BookBar is a combination of a book store and wine bar and is also a community gathering space for book lovers. Guests are encouraged to lounge, read, meet and discuss books.

Mutiny Information Cafe is a book store that offers events such as live music nights, open mic events, documentary movies, art shows, freak shows, film festivals and more.

City Stacks Books & Coffee is a book store where book lovers can enjoy reading at their espresso bar or at their window counters and can also attend speciality host reading events held throughout the year.

These new concept book stores are just another example of how you should be re-thinking the mingling efforts you have been used to so far.

Users can swipe groups until they agree on one they like, make a mutual decision to ‘like’ or ‘super-like’ each other and go on a large and fun group date.

Classes are another great way to connect with new people, while also learning or enjoying something new. Denver offers many fun classes to choose from, that also don’t require you to dust off old math books.

Dabble connects teachers sharing their unique skills and talents with curious people over in-person classes. Take a class in Denver on cooking, business, gardening, arts, beer, education, technology and more. Classes are held all over the city and you can choose a date and time that fits into your schedule.

Who knew that learning and mingling would go well so well together? Actually strike that, every college student knows that!

So try one of these places next time you scratch your head looking for ways to mingle while being single. Happy National Singles Week!
