The Plaza at Denver’s Union Station will be transformed into a world-class busker festival for the 105th Meridian Buskerfest 2017. Buskerfest will feature street performers, live bands, film screenings, face-painters, interactive workshops, a scavenger hunt, Art Cars from Trinidad, CO, crafts by Board & Brush and the students from Arts Street, a Tesla to explore, and more.

City of Westminster will be hosting its Friday, Outdoor Movies In the Park event with a special screening of The Secret Life of Pets. Enjoy watching this family-friendly film on a 24′ screen under the stars. Food vendors and pre-movie activities begin at 7pm. Movies begin at dusk. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs!

This fun-filled event offers children and their families the opportunity to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the popular Thomas & Friends™ series. In addition, they will meet Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway and enjoy a day of Thomas-themed activities including a petting zoo, temporary tattoos, Imagination Station (train table play area), sing-a-longs, bean bag toss, hula hoops, bubbles, ladder golf & a magic show!

The Colorado Renaissance Festival is a thematic recreation of a 16th Century village and marketplace set in the picturesque mountain venue of “Larkspurshire”, just south of Denver. Hundreds of colorfully costumed characters entertain continuously upon the village streets and on the Festivals 10 stages, performing 60 shows daily.

More than 200 period artisans sell their one-of-a-kind works and demonstrate their ancient craft along the shaded streets and pathways. Tantalizing medieval delicacies and the finest ales and beverages entice the palette and satisfy the heartiest of appetites.

The 45th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the Japanese American heritage and culture through live entertainment, food, arts and crafts, and informative exhibits and demonstrations. The festival will also feature a Kid’s Craft Area where kids can make Japanese crafts.

TESORO CULTURAL CENTER’S LIVING HISTORY EXPERIENCE: FANDANGO

Tesoro Cultural Center’s Living History Experience will be hosted on the grounds of The Fort Restaurant and will feature engaging family-friendly activities, dynamic enrichment opportunities, and immersion into the past.

This week’s theme is Fandango and will include Guided Tours of The Fort by Period Dressed Educators, an introduction to Shinin’ Times narrated by Sam Arnold (as shown on PBS), mini exhibits on the cultural diversity of early Colorado, Bent’s Quarters Trade Room with its collection of medicinal herbs, beads, buttons, china, calico, tobacco twists, sugar cones, tea bricks, and more!
