The Park People makes it fun, relevant, and easy to celebrate Earth Day by offering homeowners the opportunity to purchase affordable trees to plant on their property. This popular, annual event has increased significance this year, since the discovery of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in Boulder in 2012. The Park People, in conjunction with the Office of the Denver City Forester, has been preparing for the invasive insect’s possible arrival in Denver and working to reduce its impact by proactively planting 20 percent more trees in 2016. Participating in the Earth Day Tree Sale is a great way for residents to assist in this effort.

This sale is open to everyone, not just residents of Denver, and will be held in conjunction with the Denver Digs Trees program tree distribution on Saturday, April 16. Homeowners can purchase fruiting, flowering, and shade trees to plant in their yards. All species are available in limited quantities, and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
