Stone will participate in a panel discussion with Rogerebert.com editor-in-chief Matt Zoller Seitz. This event will feature a special curated beer dinner. Seitz will also introduce a Cuban feast and screening of Scarface on Monday, March 7th 2016, at 7:30pm. The five-course dinner, created by Executive Chef Seth Rexroad, will include “Mariquitas con Mojo de Ajo” (plaintain chips), a “Cubano,” “Empanadas de Carne y Cebolla,” “Arroz con Pollo,” and “Tres Leches.” Each course will be paired with a Cuban-inspired cocktail.

Released in 1997, U-Turn stars Sean Penn and Jennifer Lopez and tells the story of a drifter who becomes entangled with a femme fatale and her husband after his car breaks down in their small Southwest town. Says Entertainment Weekly critic Owen Gleiberman, “U-Turn is an overdue event, a chance for Stone to apply his hypnotic acid-trip-of-the-soul wizardry to something sexy and lowdown.”

Released in 1994, Natural Born Killers stars Woody Harrelson, Juliette Lewis, Robert Downey, Jr., Tom Sizemore and Tommy Lee Jones. Mickey (Harrelson) and Mallory (Lewis) are victims of traumatized childhoods who become lovers and psychopathic serial murderers irresponsibly glorified by the mass media. Together, they embark on a record-breaking, exceptionally gory killing spree that captivates the sensation-hungry tabloid media.

Oliver Stone came to public prominence between the mid-1980s and the early 1990s for writing and directing a series of films about the Vietnam War, in which he had participated as an infantry soldier. Many of Stone’s films primarily focus on controversial American political issues during the late 20th century, and as such that they were considered dangerous at the times of their releases.

Stone’s films often combine different camera and film formats within a single scene as evidenced in JFK, Natural Born Killers, and Nixon. Stone has received three Academy Awards for his work on the films Midnight Express, Platoon, and Born on the Fourth of July. He was presented with the Extraordinary Contribution to Filmmaking Award at the 2007 Austin Film Festival.
