Back That Truck Up: Food Truck Fundraiser | The Denver Ear

Rotary Club of Five Points Cultural District is returning with another fun food truck event! Back That Truck Up: Food Truck Fundraiser, Denver’s premier back to school food truck event, will take place on Saturday, September 24th, 2016 from 4pm to 9pm.

Back That Truck Up will take place in the parking lot behind Black Shirt Brewing Co. & directly across from the 38th & Blake A Line Station.

The event will feature music by DJ Shawn Green. Participating food trucks include; Chibby Wibbitz, The Mac Shack, WeChef Kitchen, The Sugar Storm, AikoPops, Barbed Wire Reef, and the Ethiopian Food Truck; drinks will be provided by Black Shirt Brewing Co. and Molly’s Spirits.

Back that truck up: Food Truck Fundraiser is free, open to the public, and family friendly, with an optional suggested donation of $2 per person. All donations and proceeds from food and beverage sales benefit back to school initiatives in the community, as well as year-long programs to include the Shots for Tots and Teens Clinic, End Polio Now, the Books for Nooks literacy program, RAFT Colorado and dozens of other nonprofits in the area.

The Rotary Club of Five Points Cultural District brings together engaged business, community and professional leaders who adhere to high ethical standards, build community goodwill and encourage fellowship and mutual respect. The Club prioritizes providing humanitarian services to northeast Denver neighborhoods in and around Five Points and beyond.

Five Points Rotary members currently live, work, or have lived in the Five Points neighborhood. In August 2016, Five Points Rotary donated $500 to Heart and Hand to help distribute back packs to homeless children. In 2015, Five Points Rotary worked with Denver Health to provide 735 vaccinations to 256 children in under resourced areas and reached about 50 seniors through work with Bessie’s Hope. In the past six years, Five Points Rotary has partnered with over 50 community organizations, impacted over 80 nonprofit organizations.
