Psst… 1940s WWII Era Ball

Since I was a little girl I have always dreamt of finding a time machine. I am obsessed with ANY movie that involves time travel. I’ve watched Back To The Future so many times that I can recite the dialog nearly word for word.

So it shouldn’t surprise you that this event is definitely one I would want to blog about…

Take a trip back in time at the 7th Annual 1940’S WWII Era Ball tonight, Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Boulder Airport!

The 1940’s WWII Era Ball is a USO-style event that transports 2000+ guests back to the 1940’s through music, costumes, a pin-up girl contest, food, drinks, and dancing.

In its seventh year, this annual event donates the money from ticket sales to the Wounded Warriors Project, the Spirit of Flight Center Colorado, and the Audie Murphy Museum.

1940s WWII Era Ball

The Ball takes place in an airplane hangar at the Boulder Airport that has been transformed to an earlier day and age. Vegas impersonators, WWII re-enactors, authentic WWII era military aircraft, classic cars, and ball-goers dressed in period clothes make one feel like they have stepped back in time. With musical entertainment reminiscent of the era, swing dancers will heat up the dance floor under a canopy of movie set lights while cigarette girls hand out rations. The evening’s entertainment also includes pin-up girl contest, Blue Stocking Burly Q, swing dance lessons, Singles Taxi Dancing, and a dance contest.

Several local swing dancing clubs will be on-hand to show guests the proper moves, while Vegas impersonators including Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Betty Grable, and Winston Churchill mingle among the crowd.
