The Denver Ear Giveaway Spring – Summer 2016 is announced!
Last year, we gave out free tickets to Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas‘ concerts, as well as many other prizes. This year we are giving away 2 FRONT ROW SEATS to Selena Gomez‘s Denver concert for First Place and 2 Section 103 seats to Shawn Mendes‘ concert for Second Place.

The Denver Ear Giveaway is more than just a competition for winning great prizes. We do this bi-annual competition in an effort to give our readers a voice about their favorite Denver and Colorado secrets. We want our readers to shed light on Denver and all of it’s amazing businesses to other readers. Therefore, Denver Ear Giveaway is a competition that is a love for our great city!
Every competition we change up the rules a bit to make the articles submitted different and interesting. This one is no different. Read below on what to do to enter and potentially win these fantastic prizes!

The Denver Ear Giveaway Spring – Summer 2016 Entry Rules
This edition focuses on everything LOCAL!
- Choose your favorite Denver (or surrounding cities) local secret. It can be a restaurant, a shop, a boutique, a park, a museum, a concert, an event (for profit event or non-profit event, both work), a festival, an art exhibit or basically anything you wish to share with our readers. The only rule is it MUST be a local establishment, that means it can not be a franchise that is available in other states. (*If you are choosing an event, the performer does not have to be local, only the event itself).
- Write at least 200 words about it. We want to share your personal opinion, so tell us: why you like it, your experience, what can people expect and what they can do there. If your choice is relating to a future event that has not yet occurred, share with us why you think it’s something people should look forward to.
- Include at least 2-3 images. These can be either attached or inserted.
- Send your articles in a Word format or directly in the email itself. *Please do not send PDF format as those are difficult for us to transfer over to the website.
- Include an image of yourself and a short bio about who you are.
- Send all articles by Friday, May 13th, 2016 to: [email protected].
- You can send in as many articles as you wish, however if you get chosen, only one of your articles will be selected.
- Up to two people may submit an article together. However if your article wins both of the people submitting will need to attend the event together.
- There is no age limit! If you are old enough to type, then you can enter!
The Denver Ear Giveaway Spring – Summer 2016 Selections & Winners
We will choose 5 of the best articles submitted by 5 different people. All 5 articles will be published on the website on Monday, May 16th, 2016 and will be showcased together in one article as well as individually. We will share each article on our social media platforms giving you as much exposure as we possibly can, however it will be down to you to share your personal article as well, giving you the best chances to win!
The competition will take place over the course of 30 days, once articles are published. On Thursday, June 16th, 2016 the article that has the most likes WITHIN the article (see image below) will win first place and the runner-up will win second place. The remaining three contestants will win various consolation prizes as well, which means all 5 contestants will not leave empty handed!
*We were asked many times why we decide the winners based on internal Facebook likes. The reason is, that Facebook is one of the few social media outlets that curbs fake accounts and internal likes can only be pressed once and not multiple times, meaning that the winner is chosen in the fairest way by the most individual likes. Is this a Facebook like contest? Absolutely not! This just shows us how many people connected with your article. The more people connect with it, the more we know its a secret that many people simply love!
The Selena Gomez concert will take place on July 2nd, 2016 at the Pepsi Center in Denver. The Shawn Mendes’ concert will take place on July 31st, 2016 at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield.
