Visit the Denver Zoo for Endangered Species Day as they honor endangered wildlife both near and far. Learn about the many different endangered species in the zoo’s care, what makes them unique, and how you can support their cousins’ conservation in the wild at special activity stations and demonstrations.

Water World & Adams County are hosting a free Grease movie night at Water World’s parking lot. They will have food trucks, games and more. Arrive early to get a good spot with your folding chairs, blankets, small tarps, snacks & beverages. Please leave your pets, tents/structures, grills, glass and alcohol at home.

The Five Points Jazz Festival takes place the third Saturday of May and celebrates the history of Denver’s Five Points neighborhood. Once known as the Harlem of the West, Five Points was home to several jazz clubs which played host to many of jazz music’s legends such as Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and many more. Come out to Five Points to enjoy this free festival of music, food, culture and fun.

Camping Adventures at Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus’ Joy Park

Come to Joy Park, at Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, after hours for some camping fun. You won’t actually spend the night, but the evening will be filled with fun camp-themed activities including free play in Joy Park (exclusive after-hours access), a picnic dinner and sweet treats to end the night.

Join the Colorado Railroad Museum for Magnificent May: Moms, Music & Model Trains. They are celebrating their favorite things about the month of May. A picnic with Mom, jazz music in the summer-like breezes and the distant whistle of trains highlight this special day. Singer Wendy Fopeano will join pianist Doug Roche, both renowned local jazz artists,  as they perform timeless tunes from the Great American Songbook. Enjoy fascinating demonstrations from model train clubs, and don’t forget to visit the Museum’s permanent G-scale model railway from the Denver Garden Railway Society and their HO model railway from the Denver HO Model Railroad Club. Colorado Quilting Council is presenting a special Family Explore Quilting Day. Join CQC at this family event. Bring your daughters, sons, grandkids, neighbors and anyone else who would like to learn more about quilting. Attendees will receive a gift bag filled with lots of goodies. They will also have several make & takes to enjoy, including; hand embroidery, a 9-patch block, stamps on fabric, a yoyo keychain, etc. CQC will unveil its quilt collection, over 30 quilts on display and their quilt parade will be for anyone to show their work and lend them inspiration.
