Psst… Elitch Gardens Opening Day

Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park | The Denver Ear

Can you smell the scent of summer approaching?! If the scent of summer is not something your sense of smell can pick up, then this announcement will surely help.

Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park is re-opening it’s gates this Saturday, April 29th, 2017, and will feature a brand high flying thrill ride, the Star Flyer and three new Speed Water Slides, the Mega Wedgie!

Elitch Gardens’ New Thrill Ride: Star Flyer

Soaring above the Denver skyline comes one of the tallest rides in Colorado.

The Star Flyer is a ride so high it will leave you gasping for air. On this extreme swing ride, 48 guests sit two across in open-air seats, feet dangling and hair blowing, ascending to the top of the 17-story tower while flying round and round. Riders will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of their favorite park attractions, Downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains.

Elitch Gardens’ New Speed Water Slides: Mega Wedgie

On the all-new Mega Wedgie, riders will plunge off a six-story tower at 40 mph down a choice of three body slides. By the time you rush to the bottom, you’ll understand why this soaking attraction got its name, but you’ll be hiking back to the top to ride these bad boys over and over again.

Mega Wedgie and Star Flyer are the two latest investments the park is making as part of its $4 million capital improvement program. Mega Wedgie is the eighth new attraction introduced in the past six years and will help ensure that Elitch Gardens continues to be the premiere theme and water park in the Rocky Mountain West.

Located in the heart of Denver and celebrating 127 years of fun, Elitch Gardens is Colorado’s only world-class combination theme and water park. From thrilling roller coasters to pint-sized adventures, a splashin’ water park and tons of special events, there’s thrills for all. The park is open April through October.

Tickets can be purchased daily and range between $34.99-$54.99, depending on height/age and whether you purchase them online or at the gate. Children under the age of 3 are FREE. Season passes are also available for $69.99 per person. Parking is available for $15 per vehicle per day in the main lot or $20 per vehicle per day in the VIP lot. Season Parking Passes can also be purchased for $50 and are valid any day from purchase through the end of the current operating season.

This sounds like an exciting family adventure! I know how it is when a little one is just a little too little. We have the same heartbreak around here as each of our seven kids tries to stretch to reach a certain height for a special ride. Ah well…too soon they’ll meet the mark!

These prices are definitely better than Disney, although I’d love a family pass rate. Even with the season pass and the free little ones, it adds up with nine people in the family.

Have fun riding the Twister II with your daughter!

    I absolutely LOVE water parks!!!

Now I have an even better reason to make my way to Denver in the summertime. I really like that it’s located downtown. Maybe I’m weird, but I find that so fascinating.

Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park here I come!!!
